Thank you for sharing this. I find myself saying to people old age eh? When they tell me of their aches and pains. I am falling into the trap of fitting in with what everyone else says and giving the correct reaction. Yes I say, our bodies have done a lot.

My body is creaking and protesting post menopause but my mind is much more clear and hungry. And so I have a curious relationship between my body and mind. One that I need to work on. A body I need and want to befriend.

I love this photo of you. You reminded me of so many women I knew when I was growing up. Those that swam in ice cold water when it was definitely not trendy and was even frowned upon. Those that said no. Those that were in charge of our community and people knew better than to argue with them. A beautiful timeless strength in aging.

I love that - "A beautiful timeless strength in aging" - definitely more work to be done to appreciate the accumulated lessons of life, whether strong of body and/or mind or not.

Well said Mel! And an arresting thought that in ageing we become more visibly ourselves. Beautiful photo of you btw.

Also loved your quote 'A woman may crave to be near water'. That would be me! We went to Seaford for the first time last week, and while it's no-one's idea of an idyllic beach there was something so right about it, and me being there, that my spirits soared - as they always do by the sea. I wonder if people who live by the sea continue to feel that way, or if it fades with familiarity.

Thank you!

Someone told me to make an effort to love Seaford as it's the easiest to drive to from here. So I've been working on it 😂 and it's pretty good for a pebble beach.

I go down for a swim sometimes and I love the walk over the cliffs to Cuckmere Haven.

As someone who grew up by the sea, I can say that my family strongly identifies with the sea as a panacea!!

My connection with the sea is purely Piscean. I like sensing it and being in it and near it, but (frustratingly!) am not remotely interested in boats or watersports. Weird how much I loved Seaford because south-east coast beaches aren't generally my thing.
